MidOne’s time with Team Secret ended after only playing a single tournament together.

It is a week into 2024 and Team Secret already opts for a roster shuffle. The team bids farewell to its midlaner, Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng, who has just joined them two months ago. Another player, Daniyal "yamich" Lazebnyy , who has been playing as Team Secret's position 4 also departed the team.

Filling in the two vacant slots are Teng "Kordan" Tjin Yao in the midlane and Marcel "Ekki" Hołowienko as the position 4. Kordan is a Singaporean rising star who last played in Bleed Esports. Ekki, on the other hand, is a Polish support player who had been assisting coaches in notable organizations such as TSM and Team Secret itself. But Ekki makes his move as a player once again as he steps into the official roster of Secret for 2024.

Team Secret's current Dota 2 roster:

  • Remco "Crystallis" Arets
  • Teng "Kordan" Tjin Yao
  • Miroslav "BOOM" Bičan
  • Marcel "Ekki" Hołowienko
  • Clement "Puppey" Ivanov

MidOne's quick stint with Team Secret

MidOne and Team Secret has a long history together. The two names dominated tournaments back in the 2017-2019 era, earning MidOne three Major victories.

The two parted ways for four years, during when MidOne returned to his region to play for Team SMG. But the team crumbled with little to no success and MidOne found himself back among Secret in November 2023.

The newly-built roster for Team Secret saw a bright start, winning a tournament slot in the ESL One Kuala Lumpur Western Europe Closed Qualifiers. The team proceed to perform well in the Group Stage, zooming ahead of names like BetBoom Team and Blacklist International. Ultimately, Team Secret finished in the top 8 at ESL One Kuala Lumpur - a relatively impressive result.

Despite that seemingly good start, Team Secret opted to shake up its roster once again. A few days before the Closed Qualifier of BetBoom Dacha Dubai, Team Secret announced the departure of MidOne and Yamich, also welcoming new names Kordan and Ekki.

It is unknown where MidOne and Yamich will head to next. Team Secret will compete in the Closed Qualifiers of BetBoom Dacha Dubai to qualify for the $1 million dollars tournament. Find out more details about the tournament below!
