No longer cursed, Gabbi will attend The International for the first time in 3 years.

Entity has qualified for The International 2023 (TI12) after dominantly smashing the Western Europe (WEU) Qualifiers. The team with newly appointed offlaner, Gabbi, exuded insane chemistry to deliver a strong Upper Bracket run. Entity will join the other nineteen teams in Seattle, USA this October.

"We've had a tough year but what counts is that we made it to The International 2023 after an INSANE performance in the WEU Regional Qualifiers!" Entity posted.

Entity's complete Dota 2 roster for TI12:

  • Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov
  • Daniel "Stormstormer" Schoetzau
  • Kim "Gabbi" Santos
  • Vladislav "Kataomi`" Semenov
  • Dzmitry "Fishman" Palishchuk

Gabbi breaks his curse and attends TI against all odds

When Entity revealed Gabbi's arrival in the roster, replacing Tobi, most were skeptical. Not only is Gabbi from Southeast Asia, a different region with a different playstyle, but he also holds a notorious curse.

The last two teams that he joined, T1 and Fnatic, disbanded following disappointing results. On top of that, he has been teamless for five months and in that duration, has been practicing a different role, switching from carry to offlane.

The odds were stacked but Entity took the chance. Despite doubts and question marks, Gabbi showcased a remarkable offlane performance. He clicked incredibly well with Entity and that is seen in their dominant Upper Bracket run.

The Filipino star last attended TI alongside TNC Predator in 2019. He has had a rough couple of years. But no longer cursed, Gabbi will make it onto Valve's grandest Dota 2 event, The International, for the first time in 3 years.

Watson is the first Kazakhstan player at TI

Europe's rank 1 player, watson, is thriving! Earlier this year, he became the only player from Kazakhstan to reach a top 6 at a Dota 2 Major. Fast forward to today, he now becomes the first player of his nation to play on the stage of The International.

One more team will emerge from WEU

The show is still not over as one more slot has yet to be claimed. In Western Europe, three final contenders remain - Team Secret, Quest Esports, and Luna Galaxy.

We'll have the full TI12 lineup tomorrow as the TI12 Regional Qualifiers conclude. Stay tuned to esports.gg for more Dota 2 news and updates.
