Ten Dota 2 players banned due to account sharing in SEA DPC Qualifiers

A case of account sharing has surfaced in Southeast Asia once again. During the SEA Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Tour 3 Open Qualifier #1, two Malaysian teams - Team Ancient and Dino Esports - were caught account sharing.

Five of the players involved have been permanently banned by EPULZE. The rest involved are indefinitely banned pending a more extensive investigation. You can find the list of banned players below:

It seems like the Dota 2 pro scene can't escape matchfixing or account sharing cases for long. The SEA DPC Qualifiers for SEA began on May 15. The first round is to conclude today, on May 16. While Dino Esports faced early elimination, Team Ancient managed to advance to the Quarterfinals.

But today, EPULZE dropped the devastating announcement, revealing both teams' heavy violations of conduct. Team Ancient and Dino Esports field a full stack of Malaysian players, however, none of them are prominent names. For now, EPULZE disclosed that the players of both teams are banned from its organization. Valve's ban is also likely to come after.

This case happened only two months after Valve banned forty-six Dota 2 pros from both the Chinese and Southeast Asian regions. This case involved notable players from prominent teams, namely EHOME and Knights. Not too long before that another matchfixing case also happened. Valve had banned ten Dota 2 pros from the Eastern European (EEU) region including then-Virtus.pro's Koma.
