Entity bounces back with a victory at the 1win Series Dota 2 Spring after a tough start to the year.
It has been a wild journey for Entity in early 2024. The Western European dark horse has just secured its first major victory by winning the $100,000 tournament, 1win Series Dota 2 Spring. This successful run came after a dull period of consecutive losses for Entity, where they failed to qualify for tournaments in early 2024.
Entity stomps Team Liquid and Virtus.pro to win the 1win Series
The 1win Series Dota 2 Spring gathered eight teams to compete in an online setting. These teams include powerhouses like Team Spirit and Team Liquid with other dark horses like Virtus.pro and PSG Quest. It is a short 4-day tournament with a massive $100,000 on the line. While many predicted the favorites, Liquid and Spirit, to grab the top 2 finish - the tournament witnessed a surprising twist.
Both Entity and Virtus.pro led the Group Stage and eventually settled in the Grand Finals. These two teams are notable threats in each region but they've definitely stepped up in this tournament. But Entity showcased a better performance, ultimately defeating VP 3-1 in the grand finals.
This marks Entity's first major victory in history. The team did secure a couple of first place finishes in tier 3 tournaments before, but this was a much more significant win. Entity gets to bring home a lion's share of the prize pool, taking $50,000 dollars.

Entity's performance in 2024 so far
Entity is one of the top teams in Western Europe, but its start in 2024 was quite dampening. The team failed to make it to three big tournaments after falling short in all the qualifiers. Entity placed in the top 8 of BetBoom Dacha WEU Qualifier losing to Tundra Esports. They then lost to Team Secret in the DreamLeague Season 22 WEU Qualifier. And most recently, they finished 3rd behind Tundra Esports in the ESL One Birmingham WEU Qualifier.
But rays of hope are starting to shine. Entity delivered a decent performance in the Games of the Future 2024, settling in the top 8. They also made it to the next big event, Elite League, through the qualifiers. Likely riding on this momentum, Entity managed to put on a show at the 1win Series Dota 2 Spring!
Entity will compete in the DreamLeague Season 23 qualifier soon, and eyes are set to see if they can continue this dominant performance. After the qualifiers, they'll then participate in the massive Elite League, together with the world's best teams.
