The Dota 2 Berlin Major 2023 has sold out just days after the release of tickets for the event.

Dota 2’s Berlin Major 2023, hosted by ESL, has sold out of tickets just seven days after they went on sale. News of the sell out was released by ESL on their ESL Dota 2 socials on the morning of Feb. 22, ahead of the start of the Berlin Major’s predecessor, the Lima Major.

The now-sold-out Berlin Major is set to take place between in May 2022, with the main event taking place between May 5 and May 7 in the Velodrom Arena in Berlin, Germany. The Velodrom can reportedly hold up to 12,000 people, and is one of the largest indoor concert venues in Berlin.

A speedy sell out for the Berlin Major

Tickets for the ESL Berlin Major 2023 went on sale on Feb. 15, and on the very same day, limited Premium/Plus tickets were sold out. A few days later, and now all tickets for the event have been sold, with ESL adding “We'll try to squeeze more tickets in soon - stay tuned.”

It’s likely that the venue’s 12,000 maximum capacity isn’t being fully utilized, and that a more conservative number of tickets were initially released.

ESL after Berlin Major tickets sold out

As a result, ESL will now likely attempt to open up sections which it had initially not planned to sell tickets for to expand the event’s capacity closer to the 12k upper limit.

Can I still get Berlin Major tickets?

While hope is not lost for those looking to head to Berlin in May, we’d caution against getting your hopes up too much. The speed of the sell out and the limited number of additional tickets that could potentially be sold will make it just a difficult as before to get tickets.

The Berlin Major will see 18 teams battle for a share of the $500,000 prize pool and crucial DPC points. The event starts on April 26 and runs until May 7. Stay tuned to Esports.gg for coverage and news on this incredible event!
