BOOM Esports takes down EG to force a 3-way elimination tiebreaker vs Soniqs and BetBoom

BOOM Esports keeps their TI11 run alive! The SEA kings force a 3-way tiebreaker with Soniqs and BetBoom Team for one final chance to avoid elimination.

We are on day four of TI11 Group Stage and after over 170 matches no team has yet been eliminated! This TI proves to be gut-wrenchingly intense as BOOM Esports crawl out of the elimination pit for another chance at TI11. After defeating Group A's top dog, Evil Geniuses, BOOM Esports forces a 3-way tiebreaker with Soniqs and BetBoom Team - and only one can survive.

UPDATE: BOOM Esports prevails in the tiebreaker and continues its journey at TI11. After BOOM lost to EG yesterday, the team only had 1.42% chance of escaping elimination. And that is all that they needed.

Three regions in a 3-way tiebreaker at TI11 Group Stage

The state of Group A has been pretty chaotic with no team fully dominating or flunking. Every team - including the underdogs and the favorites had its series of wins and upsets.

On day three, EG became the first team to qualify for the Upper Bracket Playoffs and BOOM Esports hangs by a thread from TI11 with the lowest score. However, today (October 18th) sees a shocking performance from BOOM, as they take down EG 2-0.

Other teams that hovered near elimination, Soniqs and BetBoom scored a 0-2 loss and a 1-1 draw respectively. This led to all three of the bottom teams having the same scoreline.

A 3-way tiebreaker is set to happen at 4 PM SGT to determine who exits TI11 and who survives.

Interestingly, all 3 teams are from different regions. BetBoom Team had qualified for TI11 through the Eastern European (EEU) qualifier. BOOM Esports earned a direct invite after accumulating sufficient DPC points and Soniqs made it through the North American (NA) qualifier.

While the Upper Bracket teams are set - EG, Team Liquid, PSG.LGD, and OG - we will see one final show to determine the bottom teams of Group A. Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming 3-way BO1 tiebreakers that will happen today at 4 PM SGT.
