Ame delivered a stunning debut after a year of hiatus

Washed? What's that? Wang "Ame" Chunyu has finally played his first official match in a competitive Dota 2 tournament following his lengthy one-year hiatus. He played while rocking the colors of Xtreme Gaming, which also comprises legends like Zhao "XinQ" Zixing and Lin "Xxs" Jing.

The opening of the event sees Xtreme Gaming taking down BetBoom Team with ease in their first series of the tournament. The clash, which took place in Group B, wrapped up in 80 minutes with two glorious wins for XG.

In game one, Ame's Anti-Mage out-farmed his counterpart and closed the game at 42 minutes. The second game was a smoother journey. Team Spirit's Yatoro even dubbed Ame's Naga Siren gameplay in game two as "the most beautiful carry game" he has watched in the last year.

Faith_bian and Azure Ray defeat OG.. not a noob after all

In a recent interview with esports.gg, Zhang "Faith_bian" Ruida (also called Bach) labeled himself as a noob. But him and Azure Ray would continue to obliterate OG in their opening series at the BetBoom Dacha Dubai Group Stage.

Azure Ray is definitely one of the favorites of the tournament, especially after a brilliant victory at the ESL One Kuala Lumpur last year. But people started to doubt on their potential after most of its players migrated to Xtreme Gaming. However, their replacements are no nobodies. Faith_bian and Zeng "Ori" Jiaoyang unretired to join this new Chinese powerhouse. And they've shown that retirement or no, they are still solid at the game.

The first game was an interesting victory as the kill score was led by the position 5 Enchantress on Jiang "天命" An (tian ming). The second game was a quicker death for OG as it ended after 33 minutes.

Gaimin Gladiators, a kryptonite to Liquid

Gaben, I have come to bargain. No matter how many times these two have their clash, the end game would always see the same result. Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid have continuously paired up since 2023 and their main battleground would be at a tournament finals. However, Gaimin Gladiators would always consistently knock down Liquid with ease.

Their rivalry doesn't end in 2023. Interestingly, both teams had their debut of 2024 with a match against each other in Group A of BetBoom Dacha Dubai Group Stage. While Gaimin Gladiators' roster is unchanged, Team Liquid sees Neta "33" Shapira in the former shoes of Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg. Despite the slight changes, the result.. remains the same. Gaimin Gladiators took down Team Liquid 2-0 in under 60 minutes.

BetBoom Dacha Dubai day one: Clip of the day

It's only day one and we are already seeing the Ammar shenanigans! In game two of Falcons vs LGD Gaming, Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf went ham and built a Divine Rapier on his offlane Mars. A single uppercut and the enemy carry was instantly annihilated! Absolute BONKERS. Check out the clip below!

And those were the biggest stories of day one at the BetBoom Dacha Dubai. The Group Stage has barely begun and things will continue to pick up pace. Will these early showings take a turn or will these teams continue to ride on the momentum?
