The Ability Arena Patch 2.0 in Dota

The new spells of Ability Arena 2.0

In addition to the new gods of Ability Arena , there are also 22 new spells that have been added to the game. The total spell count now reaches 170 which is quite the feat for a Dota 2 arcade game. Although you don’t need to worry, as there are only 100 spells total per match of Ability Arena. Regardless, here is the full list of the new spell additions to Ability Arena 2.0.

  • Fortune’s End
  • Ice Blast
  • Spear of Mars
  • Pulverize
  • Inner Fire
  • Lucent Beam
  • Dragons blood
  • Boundless Strike
  • Death Ward
  • Shadow Dance
  • Reality Rift
  • Lil Shredder
  • Enchant totem
  • Press the Attack
  • Sidekick
  • Summon Familiars
  • Burning Barrage
  • Moon Glaives
  • Fiends Grip
  • Epicenter
  • Frostbite

All the new spells of Ability Arena 2.0 have some great potential just by looking at the names. The possibilities truly become endless with their Super and Gaben level upgrades. Although you’ll have to hop into your very own lobbies to find out all of the new super and Gaben abilities. However, thanks to the blog post on Ability Arena 2.0, we have a bit of a taste.

Changes to old spells

The last notable update about the patch of Ability Arena is some spell nerfs. There are a total of seven spells that have all been nerfed to a degree in Ability Arena 2.0. For the sake of brevity, there isn’t a in depth explanation of each, just that they were all a little too powerful. Hence the small nerfs. The nerfs of which are:

  • Arc Lightning Gaben: Now grants Timeless Relic
  • Kraken Shell Gaben: Removed Mirror Shield
  • Lucent Beam: Gaben: Bounces less and deals 15% less damage per bounce
  • Nethertoxin: Max damage decreased to 60 and 130 for Super
  • Wild Axes: Super bonus damage to 30.
  • Frost Shield: duration to 4/5/6/7
  • Frost Shield: Super duration to +1s
  • Chemical Rage BAT on Melee units to 1.2/1.1/1.0

These changes in the 2.0 update of Ability Arena aren’t world shattering, or revolutionary. But that was the goal with the nerfs. All the spells have a unique balance to them in this game mode unlike normal Dota. We’ll just have to see how they play out.
