Who will be the first to reach Level 100?

Diablo 4 is finally upon us and the race to become one of the first players to max out on the game is ready to begin. Diablo 4's Race to World First event will celebrate the competitive nature in players right from the start of the new game's life cycle.

DiabloBuilds, a dedicated fansite to the new game will be offering an incredibly in-depth build calculator for players to use. They will also be hosting the Race to World First event as part of the launch of the game worldwide.

The event is called the Race to World First Level 100. It is a spiritual successor to similar events that have taken place in other games like World of Warcraft.

The DiabloBuilds website will also feature the first leaderboards for Diablo 4. There won't be any native leaderboards in the game, so this will be the only way to track progress against others when the game drops.

Leaderboards will split into Softcore and Hardcore variants and will feature usernames, classes, EXP counters and the level that the player is currently on. It will be a live look at who is the closest to being Level 100 in the game.

Creator advantage?

Some fans complained about the fact that creators were playing pre-release review copies of the game. They thought they had an unfair advantage on their way to Level 100 with playtime in the game already established. That won't be the case though.

Diablo GM Rod Fergusson confirmed that players who had played in the review builds of the game would not be eligible to take part in the event.
