If you haven’t heard the news, Deadlock is Valve’s upcoming FPS game, and they have finally, officially recognized its existence!
Valve's upcoming first-person shooter has been the talk of the town in the gaming world as of late. It started with leaks and rumors of what to expect, then an informal request to not speak about it was ignored. And now, Valve has made Deadlock official.
All rules restricting public discussion regarding Deadlock have been lifted. This includes any sort of community-building for the game, discussions on social media, and even streaming and content creation centered around it.

Deadlock is official confirms Valve, if there was ever any doubt
All we know is that Deadlock now truly, officially exists. That's all, however. There is no release date, not even a timetable for one. As well, there aren't even any minimum or recommended requirements listed for the title.
Instead, all we have is what the playtesters give us, along with a newly published Steam page. Valve, who owns Steam as we all know, tagged everyone in the Deadlock Discord server that they lifted the rules. Feel free to chat about Deadlock all you want.
That doesn't mean it is open for anyone to test, though. The game still remains in a strict invite only state, as Valve is nowhere near ready to release it to the masses. It is still in very early development, but the fact that Deadlock is official is good news.
As most games do these days, we can speculate that a closed testing period may happen with invites being a luck of the draw. Then as the development cycle progresses, perhaps they'll open the door for more players.
That's all speculation until anything is confirmed, but Valve officially listing Deadlock on Steam, where you can check out some information, a short video, and even wishlist it, means it is on the right track to being available to more than just a handful.
