XTQZZZ and Vitality part ways after three years together. What’s next for the French counter-strike scene?
XTQZZZ has parted ways with Team Vitality, the organization announced today. This marks the end of a three-year relationship between the org and the coach.
XTQZZZ joined Vitality in 2018 and has helped the team rise to become one of the best in the world. Vitality finished 2021 in second place behind Navi. Vitality is slated to underdog a massive overhaul next year. Reports suggest Vitality will be adding Danny "zonic" Sørensen, Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, and Emil "Magisk" Reif.
Vitality played its last tournament at the BLAST Premier World Finals. Despite being a ‘dead team’ the roster put up quite a challenge, eventually finishing third after a loss to Navi.
End of a success Run for Vitality
Zyw0o, Apex and XTQZZZ were the three remaining members of the original squad. The team added misutaa last year and Kyojin earlier this year to try to become the best in the world. Unfortunately, they came up just short.
The past few months have been very successful for the French roster starting with a 2nd place finish at ESL Pro League Season 14. They lost to NAVI in the Grand finals, taking the CIS squad the full distance of five maps. They followed it up with a 2nd place finish at BLAST Premier Fall Finals, again losing to Navi. IEM Winter was a successful campaign for the team that defeated NiP 3-0 in the finals.
Navi was the team’s biggest rivals and unfortunately, they were not able to break the Navi stronghold. The roster’s final hurrah was, yet again, a loss to Navi.
