While Vitality earned its spot in the Grand Finals after a victory over MongolZ, Team Spirit surprised fans with a 2-0 victory over NAVI. Team Spirit’s match against NAVI was one of the most anticipated series of the tournament. The two teams are two of the strongest in the scene and Spirit are the defending champions at Katowice. However, they had already lost to NAVI in the group stage, most notably on Mirage.

In the playoffs, Team Spirit was prepared for the Mirage pick and completely stopped NAVI in their tracks. A strong CT side performance meant they had a commendable lead on the map and were able to close it out with ease. 

Vitality won their Group and earned their spot straight into the semifinals. They faced off against The Mongolz, a rather easy walkthrough for ZywOo and Co.

Despite featuring ZywOo, Vitality has proven itself to be more than just one player. The team’s synergy and playstyle revolve around strategic gameplay and positioning. On the other hand, Team Spirit still requires donk to outperform everyone else on the server, and even then they might lose the series.
