Team Liquid defeated NAVI once again in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. This victory comes in the Group Stage grand finals, which means they now secure an invite to the Fall Finals. Team Liquid had earlier upset NAVI in the Upper Bracket Finals.

The first map was Nuke and NAVI got their favorite map of Nuke. With Mirage out of the question, thanks to Team Liquid’s veto, NAVI had the opportunity to pick Nuke and they did not fumble. However, unlike the 13-2 drubbing they gave Team Liquid in their previous encounter. NAVI started off strong on Nuke, taking a massive 10-2 lead. The
On the flip side, Team Liquid had a similarly impressive start, winning the first five rounds in a row. However, it was always going to be a tough call for Team Liquid to win Nuke. Ultimately, they gave NAVI a tough challenge, and even though they lost Nuke, they came out of the map with a mental advantage.
The second map was Anubis, Team Liquid’s map of choice. For NAVI, of course, they needed one map win to secure their slot in the Fall Finals. NAF stepped up big time on Anubis securing 29 frags to his name. Twistzz and YEKINDAR were close behind, but despite their best efforts, the map went into overtime. However, Team Liquid was able to pull it off in Overtime to secure a 16-14 win.
The final map of the series was Inferno - where both teams managed straight-up streaks to determine the map victory. Team Liquid won the pistol and the next two rounds, but NAVI came back to win all the remaining rounds in the first half. Over on the other side, Team Liquid cruised on all rounds but one to victory. With this victory, Team Liquid have secured their invite to the Fall Finals later this month.
The BLAST Premier Fall Groups was the first event of the new season. The tournament started off with sixteen teams in attendance and a $190,000 prize pool. With the group stage featuring four double-elimination format groups, teams had an opportunity to qualify for the Fall Finals if they won the group stage. The second-placed team in each group advances to the Play-In stage, where the top two winners will get a slot at the Fall Finals.
