Imperial bench the player after nearly one year on the active roster.

Imperial Esports have benched Henrique "HEN1" Teles the organization unveiled today. This marks the end of a nearly year-long relationship between the player and the org. Imperial are expected to announce their new player soon ahead of the ESL Challenger Season 48 South America.

Hen1 parts ways with Imperial esports

Hen1 joined Imperial Esports in July last year, with a desire to form a long-standing alliance with the organization. Over the past year, the team has had some decent successes, but tournament victories remained elusive. The team finished 3-4th at the Game Arena Cup 2023 Season 1. They also finished in the top six at Cope BetBoom 2023. Their biggest victory was the CBCS Invitational 2023 where they had a clean sweep in the Grand Finals against Fluxo.

In 2024, the team’s performance saw some improvement against regional opponents. However, when it came to the big stage, the team was unable to bring up any surprises. They did qualify for the PGL American Copenhagen Major via the American RMR where they defeated paiN Gaming 2-0. The team finished a lowly 12-14th at the Major.

I confess that this one took me by surprise. When I came to Imperial I made it very clear that my desire was to finish my career here, I was already tired of having to find a new team every mid-year and start over. In recent years I have been dedicating myself a lot and, as you know, always staying on top. Regarding the out game, as many insinuate and stick to the past, I guarantee it 110%, today I am a mature man, focused on my career, my relationship and my family, and everyone who has worked with me in recent years is proof of this. I'm not a person who likes controversy, talking bad about where I come from and that won't change now. My character remains independent of the other's lack.

The truth is that the years go by and people continue to doubt my work, but I still wish all the best to everyone who is once again disbelieving me.

I am grateful for everything that Imperial organization did for me during this 1 year of being a team and I believe that there remains an unfinished feeling between us. Who knows in the next one?

I am open to negotiations and will dedicate my best to new opportunities.

The decision to be benched was definitely a surprising one for Hen1. With one year of his contract signing, it remains to be seen what’s next for the veteran player.
