IEM Rio 2024 format
The event will feature ESL's classic GSL format. Unlike IEM Cologne 2024, the initial matches still remain Best of Ones. But subsequent matches will be Best of Threes. The two groups will play out in a double-elimination bracket, with the top three teams from each making it into the playoffs. New this year is the introduction of Best of Five Grand Finals across all EPT events. The TO says this is to ensure a "suitable amount of guaranteed content" for fans in the arena.
IEM Rio has always been a blast for fans and teams with its incredible atmosphere and energy. If the finals play out anything like the recent BLAST Premier Fall Finals, the Brazilian fans will blow the roof off the arena.
