IEM Katowice 2024: All teams qualified for Group Stage

After 3 days of play-ins, we now have the list of teams that will participate in the Group Stage of IEM Katowice 2024. Eight Play-in teams joined eight guests.

The group stage will begin this Saturday, with the eight teams that left the IEM Katowice studios after the play-ins: Rooster, Astralis, FURIA, BetBoom Team, Virtus.pro, TheMongolz, M80, and BIG.

Eight of the best teams in the world received an invitation to be in the main stage of the prestigious IEM Katowice competition. The criteria for choosing these teams were different. The eight invited teams were:

Of this batch of teams, six participated in the BLAST Premier Spring Groups. Only Complexity and Falcons did not pass the stage in the competition and will have to compete in the BLAST Premier Showdown in March.

Complexity left the competition without winning a map, while Falcons had a difficult task with Astralis and Vitality in their group in great form.

At this stage of the competition, four teams qualified for the IEM Katowice Group Stage, teams with victories only.

Eternal Fire, after beating BetBoom 13-1, secured passage with a victory over Rebels who had beaten Cloud9. Heroic started by beating Astralis in the Danish derby. In a tight game against BIG, Heroic secured their place in the next phase.

Team Spirit started by beating Apeks 13-0 and then overcame The MongolZ 2-0. GamerLegion beat Virtus.pro in the decisive game after securing victory against M80.

There were still four more teams to discover that would join the IEM Katowice group stage. This was the last chance for teams that had been defeated once in the competition.

With Paweł 'dycha' Dycha inspired, ENCE beat TheMongolz 2-1. The Polish player was the most consistent in the series with an important clutch on Nuke.

In the Russian derby, Cloud9 beat Virtus.pro. On the other hand, Rebels eliminated the M80 from the competition and secured a place in the next stage of the competition. In the last game of the night, Apeks defeated BIG and advanced to the next stage.

The keys for the IEM Katowice group stages have already been defined. The groups will classify three teams from each group for the playoffs. Two teams from the Upper Bracket finals and one from the Lower Bracket.
