What is the tournament format?

Play-In

The Play-In features a double elimination bracket where all opening matches are best-of-one. While the opening matches might seem harsh, there’s some consolation as teams can redeem themselves in the subsequent matches. All remaining matches are best-of-three series.

  • Opening matches: Bo1
  • All remaining matches: Bo3

The top eight teams will advance to the next stage - The Group stage.

Group Stage

The Group stage features sixteen teams, including eight from the Play-Ins and eight directly qualified teams. The sixteen teams form two groups of eight teams each. All matches are best-of-three series.

The teams will compete in a double-elimination GSL format Group stage. The winner from each group advances directly to the semifinals. The second-placed team goes to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds, while the 3rd placed teams advances as Low Seeds Quarterfinalists.

  • Two groups of eight teams each
  • Double-elimination GSL format
  • All matches are best-of-three series.

Playoffs

The playoffs will have six teams including the two direct semifinalists. The matches are best-of-three (except for the Grand Finals which is a Bo5 series). All matches are elimination matches, which means teams have to put their best showing every single time.

  • Single-elimination matches
  • Semifinals and Quarterfinals are Bo3
  • Grand Final is Bo5
