Just one big event remains before the BLAST Austin Major, with IEM Dallas 2025 the last chance for teams to test their mettle prior to the pinnacle tournament in June.
IEM Dallas begins May 19 with 16 teams arriving in the Texan capital for a shot at $125,000 USD, vital VRS points, and bragging rights before Austin. Vitality remains on a record win streak, but with an improving Falcons, a hungry Spirit, and a FaZe bolstered by the return of s1mple, they'll have their work cut out for them this week.

IEM Dallas 2025 format and teams

IEM Dallas 2025 is a 16-team tournament kicking off May 19. Eight of the attendees were directly invited via the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) as at Feb. 25. The remaining half qualified for the tournament via regional qualifiers.
The 16 teams will be split into two groups where they'll play out an eight-team GSL bracket with a twist. The two upper bracket finalists will both make the playoffs, with the winner starting their finals campaign in the semifinal. The loser of the upper bracket match, plus the sole winner in the loser bracket, will head to the quarterfinals.
From there, we'll see six teams play through a single-elimination playoffs bracket. The two finalists will then meet in a best-of-five grand final for the lion's share of the $300,000 USD prize pool.
