Atleast “the community is amazing”

If you've been keeping up with your CS2 Twitter timeline, you'd have seen a new trend pop up today. Many organizations and community figures have tweeted out saying they've "Quit CS2 Forever". Alongside it, an image of the game being uninstalled. So where has this copypasta emerged from, and who has actually quit CS2 forever?

And just like that, I quit CS2 Forever... Thank you everyone for the support over the last 2-3 years, the community is amazing, it just sucks that the game is completely garbage. Don't know what the next big thing is for me, but it definitely isn't CS2... it's just not the same

Origin of the I Quit CS2 Copypasta

Earlier today, Counter-Strike Youtuber put out a post (below) on his Twitter account. This tweet, alongside its modified CS2 banner, almost immediately was picked up by the Counter-Strike community. With the subsequent launders tweet, the copypasta took hold.

Is "dima_wallbangs" actually quitting CS2?

Considering dima's usually jovial-toned posts, comments on his tweet immediately took the post as a lighthearted joke. The YouTuber was live on Twitch when the post was made, and he continued playing the game for several hours after the post, putting to rest any concerns over him actually quitting the game. But his tweet has spurred the CS2 Content Machines into motion.

Everyone that has "Quit CS2" so far

After the initial tweet, many have put up their own versions of the post. Former Eternal Fire player, ̣Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç was perhaps the most creative, quickly translating the post to his native language, Turkish, for his tweet. Soon even organizations were in on the joke, with the ubiquitous memers of G2 Esports leading the wave. Other notable accounts included Heroic and the CS2 leaker Ozzny.

Copypasta covering real CS2 Concerns?

Like all good jokes, there is a grain of truth behind this post too. While CS2 has had a far smoother release than any of its predecessors, there's little doubt for most players that the game simply isn't as polished as the final years of CS:GO. This topic was one of the points of discussion in the recent Snake and Banter podcast from Last Free Nation.

Still, Valve are pushing regular (by Valve time atleast) updates to smooth out the rough edges. This includes yesterday's update that introduced a new float bug, in what is assumed to be an update to fix the jump bugs. A patch was quickly issued to fix the bug, but the temporary solution is still just that, temporary so while nobody has actually "Quit CS2", work still needs to be done before it can truly take the crown as the smoothest Counter-Strike game.
