The Counter-Strike esports schedule ended with the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 and with Team Spirit lifting the trophy. But Team Spirit was not the most popular Counter-Strike team of the year. Here are the top teams based on the viewership for their matches in 2024.
Most-watched Counter-Strike teams of 2024
An Esports Charts report shows the teams that attracted the most viewership in 2024. Counter-Strike fans tuned in most for NAVI matches in 2024. The team won the PGL Copenhagen Major after a 2-1 victory over FaZe Clan. Interestingly, FaZe also came in second in the second Major of the year, the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.

- NAVI - 64.85 million hours
- G2 esports - 60.11 million hours
- FaZe Clan - 58.41 million hours
- Team Spirit - 48.43 million hours
- Team Vitality - 43.03 million hours

Interestingly, Team Spirit who won the second Major of the year were ranked 4th in terms of hours watched. Team Spirit had a spectacular and quite surprising performance to win the second Major of the year. While the rest of the teams above them in this list have been more consistent and more present on social media with bigger names.
G2 Esports has had a very diverse roster and quite a few changes to its roster throughout the year. The team’s social media presence is a critical factor in the team’s popularity. In terms of results, G2 Esports was just outside the top four in most of their events. The team did not have an impressive IEM Rio 2024, however, they still managed to be the second most popular team in terms of hours viewership in 2024.
Team Vitality’s placement was particularly surprising. The team, once a contender to be the most popular team in the world could not match up to the intense competition. With the likes of NAVI, G2 esports, and FaZe Clan pushing the boundaries of what is possible in Counter-Strike Team Vitality was no longer as much in the spotlight. They reached the top four at the PGL Copenhagen Major, however, they only managed a 5th-8th place in the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024.
