How successful will Friberg be as a coach?
Adam "friberg" Friberg has announced his transition to coaching for 2025 with the player highlighting his leadership abilities and success on various teams in the X post. The 33-year-old Swedish player last played for Team Dignitas but has been out of competition for some time now.

Friberg’s career began in CS:Source, but he rose to fame due to his presence on the Ninjas in Pyjamas in Counter-Strike Global Offensive. The Ninjas 87-0 streak saw them emerge as the dominant force in Global Offensive.
Known as the King of Banana, Friberg’s presence and performance on Inferno often helped NiP cement that map as the decisive factor in tournament finals and key matches. He was the MVP in NiP’s Major victory at ESL One Katowice 2014.
Post NiP Friberg was a part of OpTiC and Heroic and more recently Team Dignitas. The player has not been able to replicate the same level of performance as during his NiP days.
He hopes to resurrect his gaming career by now transitioning into coaching, a role he feels is more suited to his skill set. Not only has he been a veteran in Counter-Strike, but his leadership abilities were put to full test during his OpTic and HEROIC days.
After Team Dignitas, Fribergy has only been playing in various show matches and unique events. He also participated in the BLAST The Draft Season 1 as part of Pak Boyz, a team comprising Pakistani players. The team finished third in the event losing to Marcos Gaming in the lower bracket finals.
During his time on the Ninjas, Friberg was not the In-Game Leader. However, as a rifler and quite often as the pillar of one of the bombsites he had unique insight into the team’s movements and the overall strategic outlay of the round.
It will be interesting to see how he uses those skills to the team’s advantage as a coach. He is still on the lookout for a new org to represent as a coach. Ee will provide timely updates when more information becomes available.
