But there might be more changes coming to the Counter-Strike roster as per some reports.
FaZe Clan has revealed that Filip "NEO" Kubski will stay on as the team’s Head Coach after a string of successful campaigns in the past few months. NEO joined FaZe Clan as their coach in July and has led FaZe to wins at IEM Sydney 2023, Thunderpick World Championship 2023 as well as CS Asia Championships.
FaZe officially signs NEO as Head Coach
An interim coach till now, NEO is now officially the team’s head coach. NEO joining FaZe as the Interim head coach was the former player’s first stint as a coach. Bringing his vast experience into the coaching profession was always going to be a tall task, but so far he had proved his mettle. He has also obviously received positive acclaim from the players.
In July this year, long-time FaZe Clan coach, RobbaN announced his departure as he wanted to move on to the next challenge. Despite having an illustrious career as a player, NEO had never had any coaching experience.
Initially, the team did not have a great start. Right after joining the team as the coach, FaZe Clan had three 9-12th place finishes. They finished in the low placement ranking at IEM Cologne 2023, Gamers8, and ESL Pro League Season 18.
However, with Counter-Strike 2’s launch on September 27, the FaZe roster took on a new form. They had three consecutive tournament victories adding momentum to their already strong firepower.
FaZe Clan is currently on a 15-match streak and still has a few matches to play before the end of the year. The team will partake in the BLAST Premier Fall Finals later this month. Next month, they will compete in the BLAST Premier World Finals in Abu Dhabi.
