Where will Ropz go after parting ways with FaZe?
FaZe have released Robin "ropz" Kool from their CS2 roster, marking an end to the player’s nearly three-year stint with the organization. Ropz said he is excited to start a new chapter in his journey, although he has not officially revealed his next destination yet.
Ropz parts ways with FaZe Clan
In a rather emotional farewell tweet, Ropz announced his departure from FaZe Clan. The 25-year-old player joined FaZe Clan in January of 2022 and has been with the team for the past few years. During this time on the team, FaZe Clan has achieved numerous victories and several top-four finishes. Their last event together was the Perfect World Shanghai Major, where FaZe Clan came second losing to Team Spirit in the Grand Finals.
Once upon a time, there was a 12 year old boy who dreamt of being in FaZe. That boy was me. Fast forward a decade, I am proud for not only reaching that dream, but also creating history within it.
Soon after Ropz’s addition to the FaZe roster in 2022, the team started a dominating performance. The roster won several high-profile tournaments including IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne. They also won the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 where they had a 2-0 victory over NAVI. The team’s momentum continued through into 2023 with FaZe Clan completing the IEM Grand Slam.
In the same tweet, Ropz also mentioned he is looking forward to the next adventure in his career. There has been an HLTV report indicating the player might join Vitality, replacing Spinx on that team. With Ropz’ departure, there will be a big gap left in FaZe CS2 roster. Another report indicates FaZe might sign on Elige to replace Ropz on the team.
Today I am officially leaving FaZe to start another journey. It was an absolute joy and pleasure to represent this team alongside all the amazing people, who became like family to me. Memories for a lifetime, one of the best 3 years of my life.
Ropz has been an integral part of FaZe’s performance over the past few years. The player expressed the team’s importance for him in the same tweet, saying he made this decision against his heart.
No words will do justice to how much this meant for me and how special everything was, this was a decision I made against my heart and a part of me will always love this team and organisation.
