This Counter-Strike 2 tournament is intense mayhem! With single-elimination brackets, there is no second chance at the CS2 EWC 2025. The path from having 16 participants to reaching the only winner is packed into five days.
In its final week, the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC 2025) hosts a big Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) party. All the global elite gather to fight for the biggest piece of the $1.000.000 prize pool.
Team Vitality lost their tournament streak and couldn’t even reach the grand finals in the recent two big CS2 tournaments. On the other hand, Team Spirit is on the rise, adding more trophies to their cabinet. MOUZ and The MongolZ managed to defeat their Vitality beast, but couldn’t celebrate the ultimate victory. The EWC 2024 Champions, NAVI, struggle a lot at the moment. That is an exciting premise to the Counter-Strike 2 EWC 2025!

CS2 teams to watch out for during the EWC 2025
Some Counter-Strike 2 teams are considered the EWC 2025 favorites. Win or not, it’s always great to see them battling!
- Team Spirit has been marching through CS2 tournaments starting from their IEM Cologne 2025 success.
- The MongolZ defeated Team Vitality at BLAST Bounty Fall 2025. That was a great step after losing the grand final at the Austin Major.
- MOUZ left behind the season-long struggle to play versus Vitality, as they defeated these opponents at IEM Cologne 2025. Another struggle emerged, though. MOUZ couldn’t do almost anything in their matches versus Spirit.
- Team Vitality stumbled at two recent events, but they are not out of the trophy hunt. The EWC 2025 is a promise for their next big win.
Teams with big potential
Some other teams are currently on a shaky ride, but it’s still interesting to follow their matches. The odds for them at CS2 betting platforms may be rather risky.
- NAVI went from reaching the top 4 in Cologne to losing to Astralis in the closed qualifier of BLAST Bounty Fall 2025. They are EWC 2024 winners and clearly have ambitions in Riyadh.
- Team Falcons represents the local Saudi org. Having star players packed together has not been working well for Falcons at the Austin Major and IEM Cologne 2025. Playing on the org’s home ground is really important for this roster.
- FaZe Clan are on the journey of stabilizing their performance. It’s all ups and downs so far.
- Astralis got some good wins in the recent events, and the org is ready for more.
The next Counter-Strike 2 tournament after EWC 2025 is BLAST Open Fall 2025. It has a closed qualifier from Aug. 27 to Sept. 01, and the biggest teams participate in these matches. The LAN Finals are from Sept. 5 to Sept. 7.
