No official reason has been given regarding zews’ removal from the event.

Brazilian former CS2 coach Wilton "zews" Prado's transition into the commentary booth appears over before it truly began, with the caster reportedly "fired" from his first gig at PGL Bucharest after just a single matchday.

Zews, who partnered with Anders Blume in his return to tier one CS2 commentary, did not give a particular reason — nor did organizer PGL who has yet to mention why the Brazilian caster was punted.

"Community wasn't ready:" zews out of PGL Bucharest broadcast

Zews himself revealed he had been released from his PGL Bucharest duties in an X post on April 7. Replying to a clip featuring his commentary of the Aurora-paiN series, he said he'd bring more content soon "if I can find out how to correctly express myself."

"[The] community wasn't ready so won't be continuing the work officially as [I] was 'fired' for the work but it's all good," he wrote. "Hoping for a good tournament turnout regardless and appreciate the shout-out."

In a later reply responding to claims he wasn't ready to commentate such a big event, zews said the point was "never about casting or commentating" and that he was wanting to "still enjoy CS and talk about experiences." He added, "I'm just weird and it's fine. Don't need anyone to think too much of it; it is what it is and that's ok."

Esports.gg has reached out to PGL for comment but did not receive a response at the time this article was published.

Reaction to zews' commentary on day one of PGL Bucharest was mixed. Fans enjoyed segments of analysis and depth the former coach brought to the cast, but many noted his lack of experience was impacting the flow of the match, especially with co-caster Anders.

Others said he simply "just isn't ready for play-by-play," and spent too long oversharing many of his experiences as anecdotes. "He didn't deserve retaining the position with how fledgling he is at it," one fan said.

Zews wrapped up a short second stint as coach for Team Liquid CS2 in June 2024. Before that, the legendary coach — who was a member of the great Luminosity and SK Gaming Major championship squads — was bouncing around several Americas squads such as MIBR, Evil Geniuses, and Fluxo.

Since his departure from Liquid, zews had made several appearances on CS2 podcasts, talking at length about his tumultuous time with the squad and work in the sports psychology field.

Anders has been joined by Vince "Vince" Hill, who will cover the B stream through the rest of the Swiss stage. PGL Bucharest continues today with round two matches live now.
