After defeating extremely strong opponents, FURIA and Falcons aim for the tournament win. It would be a significant milestone for both, but for different reasons.

The Counter-Strike 2 esports event BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025 came to an end with the grand final between FURIA and Falcons. The tournament winners were determined in a best-of-five (Bo5) battle.

For Team Falcons, this match was a chance to test the synergy between the players. They still need to prove their potential to win meaningful tournaments.

FURIA players came from a series of event wins, and BLAST Rivals Fall 2025 in Hong Kong was an opportunity to continue this streak. The CS2 community is eager to know if we are witnessing the rise of new esports legends!

It all started as a disaster for FURIA, as they lost Map 1 with a 3:13. The team recovered brilliantly for Nuke, where they got a pretty confident win.

The remaining two maps were extremely close. Falcons pushed the battle to overtimes on Train and Mirage, but FURIA looked more consistent and better coordinated in those final rounds. molodoy certainly aims to become the rookie of the year!

Path to the grand final

CS2 BLAST Rivals Fall 2025 consisted of two stages: Groups and Playoffs. The tournament format was rather limited: only eight participants, and some top teams skipped the event. Still, FURIA and Falcons got decent challenges on their way to the grand final.

FURIA were seeded into one group with Team Vitality. These teams faced each other at IEM Chengdu 2025 just around a week ago, and FURIA won that grand final with a 3:0. Vitality sure were up for revenge, but they managed to take only one map — Overpass, in overtime.

Also, FURIA had a close match versus paiN in the groups. They faced these opponents in the semifinal again, and it was a more one-sided battle, especially on Nuke, where FURIA won with a 13:3.

Team Falcons pretty much dominated Group A at BLAST Rivals Hong Kong. They won all maps in both matches: against Spirit and Passion UA. The map scores were still close.

In the semifinal, it was Falcons’ turn to defeat Vitality. After so many attempts at other CS2 esports tournaments, Falcons finally took down their demons. Vitality had a good advantage on Inferno but could not finish the map properly. After that, Falcons looked dominant on Nuke, especially in the first half.

Vitality in struggle

It’s one of the biggest storylines of this competitive season. Team Vitality went from winning all the tournaments in the first half of 2025 to struggling to achieve event wins in the second half. Ahead of the Budapest Major, FURIA and Falcons defeated Vitality, which doesn’t add confidence for the fans and the players.

The team’s issues were pretty notable during Rivals Fall. The communication and coordination fell apart for some periods, and Vitality could not bring their advantages to the logical end, or they let their opponents build up a big score gap.Team Vitality still won ESL Pro League Season 22. This roster is capable of delivering a masterful play at the StarLadder Major 2025 in Budapest, and it’s interesting to see what they can really do at the biggest CS2 tournament of the esports season.

Who is Passion UA?

Heading to BLAST Rivals Fall 2025 in Hong Kong, most people in the community expected Group A to be a death chamber for Passion UA. The team got The MongolZ as their first opponents — and they won that match!

After that, PUA lost battles to Falcons and paiN Gaming, but they fought really well. The group winners match against Falcons was especially interesting, as Passion UA made the map score really close: 13:11 on Train and 13:10 on Mirage.

Passion UA is a fresh team on the top CS2 scene. The current roster was formed in August 2025, and PUA reached the top 6 at StarSeries Fall 2025 and BLAST Rivals Hong Kong.

The team made it to the list of participants at StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, so we will have a chance to see them playing on an even bigger stage really soon.

The MongolZ keep falling

After winning the Esports World Cup 2025, The MongolZ have been experiencing a bitter downfall. Their performance at the most recent tournaments is pretty disappointing for the fans.

At IEM Chengdu 2025, The MongolZ barely qualified for the Playoffs — after losing to Astralis and having difficulties in matches against paiN and Spirit. They were destroyed by FURIA in the first match of the final brackets.

At BLAST Fall 2025, The MongolZ lost to Passion UA and Team Spirit, so there were no wins for the team at this event.

Rollercoaster of paiN

This Brazilian team popped up on everyone’s radars thanks to their top 4 placement at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. After that, paiN Gaming disappeared for a while. As it was explained later, the organization decided to skip some events to keep their VRS level ahead of the Budapest Major.

The strategy probably worked, as paiN players join the next Major with the latest Stage 3. However, their competitive form is a big question at the moment. paiN Gaming can give good battles to big opponents and then scramble almost miserably and have no significant match wins.

At BLAST Rivals Fall 2025 in Hong Kong, paiN Gaming won over TYLOO in the groups, but even that match featured a disastrous second half on Overpass: paiN suddenly forgot how to play good Counter-Strike and lost all their advantage.

Beyond that, paiN lost to FURIA twice. Successful maps were mixed with extremely disorganized attempts.

The entire top-level CS2 pro community gathers in Budapest for the exciting conclusion of this esports season. StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 starts on Nov. 24, and the matches continue up  to Dec. 14.

All the BLAST Rivals Hong Kong participants compete at this CS2 Major, but they will have much bigger challenges, with many stronger opponents among the invited teams.
