CS2 BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024: FaZe vs G2. Dreams of comeback

In this tournament, some of the best CS2 teams battle for qualifying spots in the upcoming BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024 event. FaZe Clan and G2 Esports are seeded in Group C. Both defeated their starting opponents, so now they're play in one of the upper-bracket finals at BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024.

FaZe 1:2 G2 — G2 Esports won the series

FaZe clan had a good start of game 1, on the CT side. They lost the pistols but had a great next round with limited purchases. After that FaZe started developing their advantage — they won rounds even when G2 got proper guns.

Around the middle of game 1, G2 struggled with the economy a lot. But when it felt like the T side would be disastrous for G2 Esports they won a few important rounds, and went for a mid-game break with 7:5 in favor of FaZe.

On the T side, Faze Clan lost the pistol again and couldn’t do anything in the following eco round. The score became even and soon, G2 were ahead for the first time in the game.

Still, FaZe Clan recovered, returned to their advantageous play, delivered a few amazing rounds, and won game 1 with 13:9 in the BLAST CS2 upper-bracket final vs G2 Esports.

The whole game 2 went so wrong for FaZe Clan. They looked bad on the T side, even if they managed to get three rounds in the first half. G2 Esports continued their domination in the second half and eventually won their map pick.

Unnecessary mistakes from FaZe were their biggest disadvantage on Nuke. G2 used them pretty well.

Everything just fell apart for FaZe Clan on Mirage. Nothing worked for them: planting on the T side, kills…

G2 Esports on the other hand looked brilliant! As CTs, they won round after round — up to 9:0.

However, it did not turn out to be a hopeless game for FaZe, though. They got three rounds before switching sides. And they had a promising start in the second half.

When G2 Esports needed only one point to win the series, they certainly could afford to lose some rounds. Eventually, they got that one — to play in the group C grand final of  CS2 BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024.

The team FaZe Clan defeated their first opponent, Cloud9, at the event. That was a tough match, and the final map, Mirage, decided everything — FaZe needed one overtime period to win.

G2 Esports won the starting match against Ninjas in Pyjamas after two games. The latter team was pretty close to a comeback on the second map, Inferno, but G2 did not let that happen.

The teams did not play against each other at BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2024. FaZe Clan reached the quarterfinal and G2 didn't get out of their group. Interestingly enough, it was Team Vitality who eliminated them both.
