Vitality and MIBR go the distance - apEX with fun banter post clutch
The first series for Vitality and MIBR was against each other and it was a very closely contested one. While MIBR came into the Group Stage 2 hot after playing a few opponents in the first Stage, Vitality had more time to recuperate and practice. MIBR finished the first group stage with a 3-1 score, defeating teams such as Nemiga, FURIA and TYLOO. Their only loss so far came against GamerLegion, which was a 0-2 loss.
On the third map, when the scores were tied up at 7-7, it was an exciting moment for French Counter-Strike fans. Watching apEX clutch it out on Train, one of the old-time maps requires much more than just firepower and aim. Bringing the experience and awareness into play, ApEX clutched it out against EXIT and BRNZ4N. The post-clutch jubilation saw apEX scream out loud in celebration.
“Hey guys, I’m 60 years old. You need to step up. I’m sorry.”
The playful banter came as Vitality took a one-round lead in the third and final map of the series. ApEX finished Train with 17 frags, the second highest on his team. He had a big impact especially during clutch situations. However, it's not something unfamiliar for Counter-Strike fans, who know he brings a lot more to the table than just frags.
Team 1 | Team 2 | Map 1 | Map 2 | Map 3 | Score |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Vitality | MIBR | Anubis (7-13) | Inferno (13-3) | Train (13-8) | 2-1 |
The series started on Anubis, which was MIBR’s map of choice. Vitality, not particularly known for their Anubis gameplay, saw a dramatic loss and managed just about seven rounds. However, the team is one of the top teams and they have a deep map pool.
Their victory on both Inferno and Train highlighted how having a deep map pool is essential for such an experienced and skilled roster.
