AMKAL has benched its Counter-Strike roster, the organization revealed in an announcement. However, there’s something in the works and AMKAL will reveal its new roster very soon.
AMKAL benches Counter-Strike roster
It’s been a whirlwind year for AMKAL who entered the Counter-Strike scene by signing the ex-1Win roster. The team had one goal - to qualify for the PGL Copenhagen Major, something that they achieved.
However, they lost their star player, which resulted in a slide down the rankings. The team’s performance plummeted soon after resulting in several missed opportunities.
The team’s performance at the Copenhagen Major was not much to write home about. They finished 22nd-24th in the tournament, although their qualification itself was a big achievement.
After the Major, AMKAL had to part ways with their star AWPer. Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov joined Cloud9 and with it started AMKAL’s slide through the rankings. They tried to bolster their performances with some new signings in August last year, but it has not worked out so far.
AMKAL last played in the Skyesports Championship 2025 where they finished 5th-6th place. The team lost to The Mongolz in the quarterfinals in two maps. The series was a relatively close affair, although The Mongolz inched ahead thanks to some spectacular performances by Garidmagnai 'bLitz' Byambasuren and Usukhbayar '910' Banzragch.
