Can the former Cloud9 player lead the squad to new heights?

Abay "HObbit" Khassenov has joined 1Win the organization announced today. He will find a new place on 1win and after nearly two years on the Cloud9 roster. The 30-year-old player from Kazakhstan will reunite with a few of his former teammates in this squad.

Hobbit joins 1Win

Hobbit joined Cloud9 back in 2022 when the North American organization signed the former Gambit roster. The extremely popular signing saw the Gambit roster join Cloud9 and they had high expectations. However, on Cloud9, they could not replicate the same tier of success and slowly faded into lower ranks and oblivion. Hobbit has been a crucial member of any squad he’s been a part of. He has the charisma and the experience to help steer youngsters to new heights.

1Win hopes to tap into this experience and strategical mindset as they attempt to rise through the ranks. He replaces Rassim "Jyo" Valijev on the squad and will be back with a few familiar names on the team. He has had experience playing with several members of the 1Win Counter-Strike roster. He reunited with buster who was part of Cloud9 in early 2023 before parting ways.

What is 1Win’s Counter-Strike roster?

With this victory, 1Win’s Counter-Strike roster is as follows:

  • Timur "buster" Tulepov
  • Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov
  • Vladislav "lattykk" Vydrin
  • Boris "Ryujin" Kim
  • Abay "HObbit" Khassenov
  • Aset "Solaar" Sembiyev (coach)

The announcement comes just a few days before ESEA Season 50: Advanced Division - Europe. 1Win will be one of 82 teams in this League. Coming out on top of the League will ensure the team qualifies to the ESL Challenger League S49. With the new roster, Hobbit will have his task cut out to lead the team to the upper echelons of Counter-Strike.
