The launch of EA Sports College Football 25 took the gaming community by storm, with multiple players seeing over 700,000 people online on the game's opening day of early access. But, many wondered just how many players bought in for that first week. Lucky for us, EA has just confirmed the unique players for the opening week of College Football 25. The results are staggering.

In a press release posted on EA's website, the video game giant confirmed that College Football 25, "welcomed 5 million unique players into the game through its first week, with over 500,000 more playing via the EA Play trial."
While many of us knew the launch of this highly-anticipated college football reboot of over a decade in the making would be huge, we're not sure anyone knew it would be this huge. And, as a result, EA is reaping the benefits.
On the financial side, the developer released some of their figures for the quarter, including some very impressive revenue numbers likely driven by the success of CFB 25's launch. Via EA:
- Net revenue was $1.660 billion for the quarter.
- Net cash provided by operating activities was $120 million for the quarter and $2.076 billion for the trailing twelve months.
- EA repurchased 2.8 million shares for $375 million during the quarter under the new stock repurchase program, bringing the total for the trailing twelve months to 10.2 million shares for $1.350 billion.
All in all, College Football 25 continues to be a landmark game for EA, revitalizing many players' trust and affinity for the developer. As time continues on, we'll have to see what they are able to do with the game, especially as the college football season looms ever closer and live service will become a more prominent facet of the game's future.
