When does Modern Warfare 2 release?

The time is nearly here for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. For more than a year, fans awaited the arrival of Infinity Ward's latest entry to the franchise. Following the multiplayer beta and early campaign access, fans eagerly anticipate the complete MW2 multiplayer mode, alongside the official launch and release date. 

Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming release date of Modern Warfare 2 (MW2).

Those who pre-ordered the newest Call of Duty title can access the entire campaign now. Infinity Ward granted players early access to the story mode on October 20. However, those eager to get their hands on MW2 multiplayer and Special Ops can access both game modes on Friday, October 28. 

The October 28 release date of MW2 multiplayer, Special Ops, and complete game applies to all platforms; PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It's worth mentioning that Call of Duty launches are notorious for server issues and delays, so be prepared before you queue into a multiplayer match. Also, you can pre-load the full MW2 game now before the official launch.

Barring any delays or server issues, the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer mode features multiple game types and maps. You'll find all the classics, such as Ground War, Team Deathmatch, and Kill Confirmed. Furthermore, the all-new Knock Out and Prisoner Rescue will make their debut.
