The Toronto Ultra have finally revealed its roster for the upcoming 2025 Call of Duty League season.

We're just one week away from the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and another Call of Duty League team has decided to unveil its roster for the upcoming season. Earlier today, the Toronto Ultra unleashed one of the worst-kept secrets in the CDL by revealing its full roster.

While nothing official had been announced up until this point, leaks on social media pegged Toronto's roster weeks ago. After the LA Thieves signed Thomas "Scrappy" Ernest and Dylan "Envoy" Hannon away from the Ultra, insiders discovered that the team would be going in a clear-cut direction. That direction includes signing a former LA Thieves player and keeping two familiar faces around.

Toronto Ultra 2025 CDL roster announced

As revealed by Toronto on X, the full Ultra roster for 2025 will be:

  1. Jamie "Insight" Craven (Flex)
  2. Tobias "CleanX" Juul Jønsson (SMG)
  3. Joe "JoeDeceives" Romero (SMG)
  4. Ben "Beans" McMellon (Main AR)

As most CDL fans will know, only half of this roster is new. Insight and CleanX have donned the Toronto Ultra jersey together since Black Ops Cold War, with CleanX being a part of the organization since the CDL's inception.

The AR and SMG duo have produced multiple championships together but announced they both would be restricted free agents following the MW3 season. However, following Scrappy's departure, it seems Toronto made signing them back a high priority.

The two new faces on the team are JoeDeceives and Beans. Beans actually played for Toronto's Academy team during the Vanguard season, but has only been on Boston Breach during parts of the last two years at the professional level.

JoeDeceives comes from the LA Thieves, where he showed he has what it takes to compete with the best after performing well and placing second at the Esports World Cup.

The roles for Insight and Beans will likely be worked out after Black Ops 6 releases, but it makes sense to have the slower player in Beans play the Main AR to start. Toronto Ultra fans are used to seeing Insight play the Main AR, as Scrappy had played that role for the past two years, but a faster title in Black Ops 6 changes things up.

The SMG duo of CleanX and JoeDeceives should be fun to watch, as both are high-motor players who can fly all over the map and pick up objective time. The key question with this roster, as with most, is whether or not they'll be able to keep pace with the top three CDL teams (OpTic, LAT, FaZe). We'll have to see how this Toronto roster shakes out after Black Ops 6 releases on Oct. 25.
