Fancy reseting your progress in Black Ops 6 for some unique rewards? This is what Prestige is about.

Activision just revealed how Prestige and Player Leveling will work on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which is coming out on Oct. 25.

If you're new to Call of Duty games, Prestige is an option for players who get to the maximum level (55). Choosing Prestige resets you to the first level in exchange for some neat rewards.

Here's everything you need to know about the Prestige system in Black Ops 6, which has been revamped to be the "most rewarding version of Prestige that Call of Duty has ever seen," according to Activision.

How to unlock Prestige in Blacks Ops 6

To unlock Prestige, you must climb all the way to Level 55 (Commander) in Black Ops 6. Once you get there, access the "Barracks" tab, press the "Progression" button, and choose the "Prestige 1" option.

What happens when I go Prestige in Black Ops 6?

  • You will reset to Player Level 1 (Private I).
  • All Level Unlocks will be relocked and must be unlocked again, except for Base Operators, Emotes, and Zombies GobbleGums, as well as anything you Permanently Unlock.
  • Your Loadouts will be reset.
  • Lifetime stats will remain viewable in the Combat Record, but your stats elsewhere in the game will only show stats for your current Prestige.

While this seems like losing a lot in Black Ops 6, you'll still keep all the following:

  • Weapon Progression, Camos, and Reticles.
  • Weapon Builds. Your favorite Weapon may be relocked, but all of the Weapon Builds you’ve created for it will be waiting for you when you reach the level needed to unlock it again.
  • Challenge Progress and Unlocks.
  • Store and Battle Pass content.
  • Operator and Emote Unlocks.
  • Zombies GobbleGums.
  • Any item you have a Blueprint or Skin for will remain Permanently Unlocked through Prestige. The same goes for any Equipment, Field Upgrades, or Scorestreaks you possess Skins for.

What do I get if I go Prestige in Black Ops 6?

  • Prestige 1 Icon: Your first Prestige icon slots into the center of your Level Insignia for all players to see.
  • "Nacht Raider" Weaver Operator Skin.
  • Access to the Prestige 1 Multiplayer and Zombies Calling Card Challenge Sets.
  • One Permanent Unlock.

On top of that, you'll unlock a unique Prestige reward once every 10 levels: 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50. This works for Prestige 1, Prestige 2, Prestige 3, and so on.

Additionally, each time you Prestige, you get a Permanent Unlock.

How does Prestige's Permanent Unlock work in Black Ops 6?

  • You can use it to unlock a single item of your choice within the Player Levels.
  • You obtain a total of 10 Permanent Unlocks, one per Prestige.
  • Once you complete Prestige 10, Permanent Unlocks provide no further function as your Level Unlocks Progression becomes fully available once you’ve entered Prestige Master.

So, let's say you want the LR 7.62 as soon as possible rather than leveling up all the way to Level 49. You can use a Permanent Unlock at any time to gain instant access to the weapon in Black Ops 6 again. It's entirely up to you to choose what items you want to permanently unlock.

Additional Prestige rewards in Black Ops 6

Each of the 10 Prestige levels pays homage to one of the Black Ops games. Here are all of the rewards, as stated by Activision, besides the Prestige 1 Icon and the "Nacht Raider" Weaver Operator Skin once you've started Prestige 1.

  • Soda Fountain: The next Perk purchased gives an additional random Perk.
  • Who’s Keeping Score: Spawns a Double Points Power-Up.
  • Stock Option: Ammo is taken from the player's stockpile instead of their weapon's magazine.

Prestige 1, Level 30: "Zombie Breach" Animated Emblem

A yellow-eyed undead shambler breaks through some hastily constructed defenses in this Animated Emblem.

Prestige 1, Level 40: "Insta-kill Power-Up" Charm

Prestige, Level 50: "Teddy is a Liar" C9 Blueprint (SMG, Premium only)

There are additional Prestige rewards for all the other levels, all themed around previous Black Ops games.

Warning:

Although the Black Ops 6 Prestige Progression System is global across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone, players who own Black Ops 6 will have access to additional rewards not available to free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone players. Call of Duty: Warzone players who decide to purchase Black Ops 6 will instantly unlock any “BO6 Required” Prestige rewards they previously earned but did not receive.

If that wasn't enough for you, you can do more after reaching Prestige Level 10 in Black Ops 6.

You'll graduate into Prestige Master and your Level will rise above 55 for the first time, going all the way to Level 1,000. These are some of the rewards you can get in Prestige Masters:

  • Prestige Master Instant Reward "Sitting Bull Reborn" Marshall Operator Skin: Marshall rocks an outfit inspired by the cover art of Black Ops 6, capturing the essence of the sitting bull pose and the 90s military era.
  • Prestige Master Level 90 "Classified Arsenal" AMES 85 Animated Blueprint: Redacted bits cover the weapon in a striking pattern, symbolizing the covert and secretive world of Black Ops 6.

Is it worth to go Prestige in Black Ops 6?

Personally, if you're not a hardcore Call of Duty player, Prestige isn't worth it as you'll be signing up for a massive grind after just getting all of the weapons and items.

However, if you plan on spending dozens of hours per week playing Black Ops 6, you might as well go for Prestige so the action never gets boring.

That covers everything about Prestige. Do you also want to know how to play Black Ops 6 earlier than most players? Read our guide on how to use the famous New Zealand trick.
