The long-awaited arrival of Nuketown has been given a release date in Black Ops 6, and fans don’t have to wait long.

During all of the pre-launch talk surrounding the 6v6 maps in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, there was no mention of the fan-favorite map, Nuketown. Nuketown has been in every iteration of Black Ops since the original in 2010 and while fans didn't think that was changing this year, Activision was steadily tight-lipped about the map, until now.

Just two weeks from the launch of Black Ops 6, we received official confirmation that Nuketown is indeed coming to multiplayer. Not only that, but we learned the release date for the classic map, which won't be included with multiplayer at launch on Oct. 25.

Nuketown getting November release date in Black Ops 6

Instead of including Nuketown with the other 16 multiplayer maps at launch, Activision has decided to wait for a week to release the map. Nuketown will become available in Black Ops 6 starting on Nov. 1. It will likely be a core 6v6 map, which increases the number of core 6v6 maps in multiplayer to 13. The total map count for multiplayer, including Strike maps, will be 17 when Nuketown arrives.

We know Nov. 1 is the release date thanks to a teaser trailer for the map that went live on Oct. 10. The teaser showcases the classic "Welcome to Nuketown" sign that has "November 01" written on it.

From the looks of it, this version of Nuketown appears to be extremely similar, if not an exact remake, to the first iteration of Nuketown from Black Ops 1. The original mannequins are back on the map and the cars are from the 1940s-1950s, which is when the original Nuketown was set. While we still haven't seen the full map, you can expect it to look and feel just like the OG version from 2010.

What about the Warhead map in Black Ops 6?

For players wondering about the Strike map, Warhead, in Black Ops 6, that map is not related to Nuketown whatsoever. While some assets and elements from Nuketown are present on the map, Warhead is simply another nuclear testing site near the area of Nuketown. In fact, the map of Nuketown can be seen in the distance when you play Warhead.

So while you can explore some similar areas to Nuketown in Warhead, the maps will largely look and play completely different from each other. Warhead appears to be considerably smaller than Nuketown, hence why it's a Strike map and not a core 6v6 map. You'll be able to play 2v2 and 6v6 on Warhead while Nuketown will just feature 6v6 gameplay.
