After testing the Black Ops 7 beta, Nadeshot says the magic words, that it is a “good Call of Duty.”
Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag has been in the Black Ops 7 beta for four days and shared his verdict on the upcoming Call of Duty title.
Nadeshot started his video by summarising the assortment of well-known issues that have plagued the Call of Duty titles in the last few years. Perhaps as a warm-up to avoid - in his own words - "sounding like a corporate shill for Call of Duty".
"They do some things right, but then they get more things wrong," said Nadeshot reflecting on the last few years of Call of Duty. "The cheating has been an epidemic, they haven't made a lot of progress on updating or helping Warzone evolve, or new content for people to play. It's a little stale on that front."
So what does Nadeshot think of Black Ops 7?

Wall jumping mechanic
"I've been on beta for four days on Black Ops 7, it feels great," said Nadeshot. "The wall jump, it seems they added this crazy crackh**d mechanic that nobody asked for. It's not overwhelming, it's additive to the game in a productive way."
The Black Ops 7 wall jump mechanic allows players to leap off flat surfaces to avoid gunfire or to reach new platforms. These jumps can also be chained to create incredible movement skills (example below ft. Scump) that add a fresh new layer to combat. - How to Wall Jump in Black Ops 7
Maps
In terms of maps, the former Call of Duty pro echoed the thoughts of several others including Scump that the maps in the beta have been exceptional.
"Black Ops 6 maps they were terrible. Gun play was pretty good, but the maps in Black Ops 6 just weren't what we needed."
In comparison, the maps in Black Ops 7, Nadeshot said "are some of the best maps I've played in a Call of Duty beta in a very long time".
Combat
"All the guns, the iron sights, very satisfying to use. There's a lot of different ways to play the game [Black Ops 7]," said Nadeshot. "Whether you want to snipe, troll with shotguns, ARs, SMGs."
The former 100 Thieves CEO added that he felt the Call of Duty community had become a "little brainwashed" with the forced Call of Duty hate.
"I understand there is nothing I could do or say to remove people's opinions and the compounding interest from the frustration you've felt the last few years," said Nadeshot.
"But if we're just giving it the eye test? This [Black Ops 7] is a good Call of Duty. Now let's just pray cheating isn't overwhelming to servers when the game finally launches."
Ranked Play will not be available at launch, but will arrive in Season 2. Meanwhile COD Warzone is slated for a Season 1 release.
Nadeshot explained there would need to be a "lot of things to go wrong" between now and the eventual release of the game on Nov. 14, for Call of Duty Black Ops 7 to not stay as entertaining as the beta.
Given Nadeshot's track history of being brutally vocal of any issues with previous game iterations, this is a massive positive boost for Call of Duty fans praying for a game to sink their teeth into ahead come November.
