Eight teams are ready for battle.

All eight teams to qualify for the College CoD LAN Championship 2023 are set. The final four teams have played their way through the final qualifier in order to book their ticket to the biggest event of the season.

Four teams qualified through Playoffs

Each region of College CoD had its own playoff bracket. Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and West regions all had 24-team brackets that culminated in one team from each region making it through to LAN.

College CoD LAN Qualifier

Twelve teams were left for the final LAN Qualifier of the season. Each of the teams that placed 2-4th during the playoffs were all in the two-day LAN Qualifier tournament.

The competition split into two stages, one pool play stage where teams played the other teams in their three-teamed groups once. Then after that, there were four qualification matches where the winners made it to LAN.

Four teams qualified by beating the opposition in the one-and-done LAN qualifier matches that rounded out the weekend of the Qualifier.

Even the teams that didn't make it through this stage can hold their heads high. Regardless of losing out on playing at LAN, they can still take pride in a T12 College CoD 2023 finish.

Three of the four teams that qualified through the LAN qualifier were teams that took part in last season's LAN Championship event.

Davenport 3-0 Farmingdale

Quite possibly the closest sweep that is possible. Davenport managed a comeback on Fortress Hardpoint to open up the series with a five-point win. They then backed it up by going all the way on El Asilo SnD. In the clutch moments, it was again Davenport who turned up.

Control was a bit easier but by this point, Farmingdale may have already resided to losing the series after two incredibly tight losses to open the series. Davenport took the third map to secure the sweep and book themselves a spot at LAN.

Davenport qualified roster:

  • Thrax
  • Gekko
  • ShelDON
  • exib

NM State 3-1 Mars Hill

The second of the teams to qualify for the College CoD LAN Championship was NM State. The Aggies simply looked better than Mars Hill in Hardpoint when it came down to the qualification series.

Embassy SnD was a toss-up, going all the way to a Round 11 but the Aggies got it over the line. Mars Hill, who were rated as one of the top teams all through the season, bounced back on Hotel Control but once again the Hardpoint was too good for NM State.

NM State won 3-1 to secure the series and a path to the College CoD LAN Championship event. Their qualified LAN roster is:

  • Jolteon
  • Pheom
  • OhZaee
  • ElectricMC

St. Edwards 3-2 CSUN

Nobody really gave CSUN a chance when it came to their qualification series against SEU. St Edwards, heavy favorites with Challengers Elite star Thresh, had to go all the way to a map five against the underdog CSUN team.

Although there was a scare for SEU after Vanity shot bodies at 3-0 up. He went on a death streak and it allowed CSUN to get back into the map.

St Edwards clutched up and put a stop to the comeback, eventually winning map five 6-4 to secure themselves a spot at LAN.

St Edwards LAN qualified roster:

  • Reality
  • Vanity
  • Eons
  • Thresh

St Clair 3-0 SIUE

The eGirl-slayer himself wouldn't lay down for SIUE in the final LAN qualifier matchup of the event. Bendy made sure to help his team on the way to a resounding victory to secure St Clair a spot at LAN.

St Clair beat SIUE 3-0 in the final series of the day, securing qualification to the College CoD LAN Championship.

St Clair were 15-3 coming into the series, only missing out on the Playoff chip because of two series in their run. SIUE were 10-6, meaning that they had to overcome the odds to win but it wasn't to be.

St Clair held SIUE to 108 points on Fortress Hardpoint. That map is one of the hardest to beat teams on by that distance, and it really set the tone for the rest of the series.

Then, in the Hotel SnD that followed, Bendy put SIUE down in a 1v4 situation to seal the second map. That would be a headloss for any team.

St Clair LAN qualified roster:

  • Bendy
  • Relazed
  • blaz
  • Priestly
