Fans were treated to yet another stellar week of CDL action. There was high drama has OpTic Gaming turns it around to secure a winners bracket spot while the Los Angeles Thieves struggles continue.
The Call of Duty League officially wrapped up its group stage portion for stage two. There were plenty of talking points from week three with the bracket stage officially set. Despite suffering their first defeat, Atlanta FaZe is the favorite to win the CDL stage 2 major. Here is how the group stage panned out:
Group A: Los Angeles Thieves on the floor
It was business as usual for the Atlanta FaZe who topped their group. Atlanta, however, did suffer their first defeat on the season after going on a monstrous unbeaten run. The biggest disappointment was the Los Angeles Thieves. LA was tipped to be a top team this season but after the roster changes for the CDL Stage 2, the team is struggling to adapt to their new roster.
New York Subliners is continuing to show they are one of the better sides in the Call of Duty League. After a shaky start to life in the CDL, the Subliners are now poised to challenge for majors. New York currently sits third in the overall standings, only Dallas Empire and Atlanta FaZe have accumulated more points thus far.
Sadly for the London Ravens, it was a wakeup call for the European side. After a great start to Group B in which London started 2-0, reality sunk in as London went on to lose their last three matches. A single victory was all they needed to start the tournament in the winners bracket, but it was not meant to be.
