Get ready to drop in with more at stake than ever before in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0’s new Ranked Play beta.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 are in the midst of their third season. When the halfway mark of that season arrives, you can expect the Reloaded tagline with tons of new content. That includes a brand new Warzone Ranked play mode in its beta phase.

The basics of Warzone Ranked Play

The MW2 Ranked Play mode has given COD players a competitive system to grind through. That has never happened with the Call of Duty Battle Royale. When Season 3 Reloaded drops, the Warzone Ranked beta will, and so will you onto unsuspecting enemies in hopes of reaching the top ranks.

The mode will feature competitive settings, a rank system, a visual skill system, and seasonal rewards for whatever rank you finish in. It is important to note that the MW2 and WZ ranked systems will be completely separate from each other.

Everyone will start at Bronze. It is then up to you to climb through the ranks by gaining eliminations, netting assists, placing high, or straight up winning your Warzone matches. Here is each rank and the SR threshold for them:

  • Bronze: 0 – 899 SR
  • Silver: 900 – 2,099 SR
  • Gold: 2,100 – 3,599 SR
  • Platinum: 3,600 – 5,399 SR
  • Diamond: 5,400 – 7,499 SR
  • Crimson: 7,500 – 9,999 SR
  • Iridescent: Minimum 10,000 SR
  • Top 250: 10,000+ SR

You'll have to pay up some SR to enter a match, so you'll need to do everything you can to earn it back and then some. The end of each Warzone Ranked Play game will deliver an SR summary. If you make it to the Top 250, consider yourself the best of the best.

So when does the Warzone Ranked Play beta release? It comes right alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 Season 3 Reloaded. That is scheduled to go live on May 10 with additional content added to both games.

The fact that the mode is in a beta phase should not be overlooked. There will probably be some kinks to work out, but there's no doubt it is an exciting new opportunity for Warzone players. Expect a full launch to come in a later season, per Call of Duty.
