Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2 Battle Pass guide

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2 Battle Pass has entered a whole new era. Here’s our straightforward guide.

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Battle Pass system is here alongside Warzone 2 Season 1. Read on for our guide on how everything works.

How does the Warzone 2 Battle Pass work?

When you head to the game’s Battle Pass menu within either Call of Duty Modern Warfare II  or Warzone 2, you’ll see a large map. The first season of the map has 21 sectors. Sector A0 is a bonus one.

Sectors A1 to A20 are connected, and unlocking them requires looking at the areas beside each other. This is key to progressing through the map. When you unlock the rewards through sectors A1 to A20, they will unlock a victory sector with bonus rewards.

All players begin in sector A1, and by clicking on any sector, you can see the unlockable items.

For example, when you check out sector A1, there’s an item known as The Orbiter Weapon Blueprint. This is the main item within that area. This is also known as a “High Value Target” (HVT) item.

Underneath that HVT item are four items. In this example, these are the Aerial Entrance Calling Card, a Double Weapon XP Token, the Aerial Entrance Emblem and the Paying Rent Weapon Charm. You need to unlock all four of these items before you can unlock the HVT item.

  • The Orbiter Weapon Blueprint (Sector A1, HVT)
  • Aerial Entrance Calling Card (Sector A1)
  • Double Weapon XP Token (Sector A1)
  • Aerial Entrance Emblem (Sector A1)
  • Paying Rent Weapon Charm (Sector A1)

When you get the HVT item within a sector, that sector is complete. This means you can head to any adjacent sector. In this example, completing A1 means you can move to A2 and A3.

The items in each sector can be unlocked using a Battle Token Tier Skip.

What are Battle Token Tier Skips in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II?

A Battle Token Tier Skip is used to unlock items in each sector. You need five Battle Token Tier Skips to unlock everything in the A1 sector before advancing to an adjacent sector.

These Battle Token Tier Skips can be earned by just playing the game. For Vault Edition owners, their skips are converted into Battle Token Tier Skips of an equal amount. You need 100 Battle Token Tier Skips to complete the Battle Pass.

Activision also noted that if you have more “Vault Edition Battle Token Tier Skips than rewards remaining in the Battle Pass, any surplus will carry over to the following season.”

In short, a Battle Token Tier Skip unlocks an item for you to access. While the free items can be gained by all players, the full Battle Pass is needed to get every item.

What are the free items in the Warzone 2 Battle Pass?

The base version of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Battle Pass features 20 free items for players. Meanwhile, the rest of the 100+ items can be gained by upgrading the Battle Pass.

These are the free weapons and their locations in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Battle Pass:

  • BAS-P SMG — Bruen Ops Platform (Sector A6, HVT, Free)
  • Victus XMR Sniper Rifle — Imperatorium Platform (Sector A7, HVT, Free)

“Those who want to unlock the two new weapons in the Battle Pass need only 15 Battle Token Tier Skips if they head straight from the first Sector toward Sectors A6 or A7, and 30 to unlock them both,” Activision explained.

You can get the Battle Pass Bundle to gain 20 Battle Token Tier Skips immediately. This bundle unlocks those tiered rewards right away. Players who have the Vault Edition of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II are also able to use their free Battle Pass plus the tier skips.
