Call of Duty is finally on Game Pass!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is releasing on XBOX Game Pass on July 24, Microsoft has announced. This will be the first time a Call of Duty game will be made avaliable on Game Pass. This will apply to both Console and PC.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which released back in November 2023, is the latest mainline Call of Duty game. It's a reboot of the iconic Modern Warfare line, with the original Modern Warfare 3 releasing all the way back in 2011.
Microsoft recently announced price hikes for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC earlier this month. If you want to play MW3 on Game Pass, you'll need to cough up either $19.99 a month for Ultimate or $11.99 on PC.

Will Modern Warfare 3 be the only Call of Duty game on Game Pass?
While Modern Warfare 3 is the first Call of Duty Game on Game Pass, that might not be the case for long. Microsoft has previously confirmed that Black Ops 6 will release on Xbox Game Pass on day one. The inclusion of Call of Duty titles moving forward may soften the blow of the recent price hike.
However, fans are not satisfied with this offering. Fans have been quick to request previous Call of Duty titles also join Game Pass.
At the moment, besides MW3 and Black Ops 6 there are no plans to add any other titles to Game Pass. This could change in the future, especially if fans continue to show a clear demand for older titles.
What tier of Game Pass do I need to play MW3?
All tiers of Microsoft Game Pass will be able to play Modern Warfare 3 when it releases. However, if you want to play Black Ops 6 when that releases later this year, you'll need Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC. That however does not apply to existing subscribers, with all tiers getting access to Black Ops 6.
