Black Ops 7 Zombies is supposedly introducing a new way to play that hits all the nostalgia notes.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 news cycle just won't stop, but instead of an official trailer or blog post, we have some leaks coming for the Zombies mode. After a day filled with new details about multiplayer, an inside source has dropped a huge leak about Black Ops 7 Zombies.
If you're a COD Zombies fan, this leak will likely excite you more than anything else that will be officially revealed in Black Ops 7.
Classic Mode supposedly coming to Black Ops 7 Zombies
The source of this massive leak is @TheGhostOfHope, who is as reliable as it gets when it comes to Call of Duty. According to them, Zombies is planning to launch with two different game modes. One of them is Standard Mode, which is what we currently have in Black Ops 6, and the other is Classic Mode. The leak states that Classic Mode is called "Cursed" in Black Ops 7, and it features all of the systems and features from older Zombies modes.
This includes starting every match with a pistol, returning to the old points system where you get points for every shot instead of kills, and no exfil option, among many other features.
As you can see from TheGhostOfHope's tweet, Classic Mode is exactly what older Zombies games used to be like. In addition to what we said above, there's no mini-map to aid you during the match, you can only have four perks at a time, your wallbuys and Mystery Box options only feature specified weapons, and there's no armor system aside from getting the Juggernog perk.
This is a massive addition to Black Ops 7 Zombies, if the leak turns out to be accurate. Zombies fans have been clamoring for a return to a more basic structure ever since Black Ops Cold War changed the basic formula. The leak also follows official details about Zombies from Activision, and those were received extremely well by the community.
Of course, if you're in favor of the new-wave Zombies mode, then you still have the Standard Mode to play. Standard Mode will likely be very similar to what's currently in Black Ops 6, where you have tons of customization options, loadouts, and more forgiving gameplay.
Following the launch of Black Ops 7, Standard and the rumored Classic Mode will also be joined by Directed Mode. This mode features step-by-step instructions on your screen for how to complete a map's Easter Egg quest. Directed Mode is set to arrive shortly after the launch of Black Ops 7 to give time for players time to solve the Easter Egg by themselves without any help from the game.
We'll be seeing even more news about Black Ops 7 Zombies, and possibly confirmation of Classic Mode, before and at the COD Next event. Until then, check out our other post about Activision possibly removing disbanding lobbies back into Black Ops 7.
