A new map for Warzone has been leaked, and the community is up in arms yet again.

In the past few weeks, we've seen and heard a heap of information regarding Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Activision and Treyarch fully revealed Black Ops 7 at Gamescom Opening Night Live and then released a 17-minute Direct video that went into even more detail about all three aspects of the game (Campaign, multiplayer, Zombies). One area that has not been officially talked about, however, is Warzone.

This is in large part due to the standard Call of Duty cycle, as we often don't hear anything about Warzone until the annual COD Next event. This year, the event is taking place in late September, and we should see some actual gameplay of the next iteration of Warzone then. Recently, though, insiders have come out and apparently leaked the newest Warzone map that's set to arrive after Black Ops 7 launches.

From these leaks, it's safe to assume the community isn't happy with Call of Duty, and that's becoming a hot trend as of late.

What's the Warzone map coming in Black Ops 7?

According to multiple insiders, but @TheGhostOfHope was first with the leak, the new Warzone map in BO7 will be a Resurgence-style map that's planned to release with the Season 1 update. Season 1 should arrive around early-mid December, as BO7 is slated to launch on Nov. 14.

The insiders have reported that Verdansk is planned to stay the large-scale map in Warzone, and this Resurgence map will slide in alongside it, likely replacing Rebirth Island. We don't know anything about that for sure, though, so plans could still change and the new map could simply be an addition without Rebirth being removed from the map rotation. It definitely seems like Verdansk is here for the long haul, though.

TheGhostOfHope stated that some people got to playtest the new Warzone map, and the reception wasn't great. This might have something to do with TheGhostOfHope's other leak, which is that the new map takes place around Liberty Falls, the Zombies map from Black Ops 6.

Many players in the community assumed the new Warzone map in BO7 would take place on Avalon, one of the main settings in the BO7 Campaign and multiplayer. However, it seems Activision and Treyarch want to take things in a much, much different direction.

If these leaks about the map are true, then a solid chunk or all of the Liberty Falls map from BO6 Zombies would be playable in Warzone starting with Season 1 in BO7. The map would also include other maps from BO6 Zombies, as most of them take place close to each other. The other maps would be Shattered Veil, Citadelle Des Morts, and possibly The Tomb. Terminus is a standalone map in terms of its location, so that wouldn't be playable on the Warzone map.

We don't know if the BO7 Warzone map would really include all of those BO6 Zombies maps, but it seems likely that at least a couple of them would show up in some way. Regardless of what happens with those other maps, the idea of making a larger version of Liberty Falls as the focal point for a new Warzone map doesn't seem appealing to most fans.

For one, Zombies fans would see a battle royale get an expanded version of a map that was originally in their favorite mode. Some fans might ask why this larger map wasn't made available during the course of BO6's life cycle.

On the other hand, a new map in Warzone is usually full of completely fresh points of interest. By reusing assets from Liberty Falls and other Zombies maps, it could mean players get burnt out on the map faster than they would on any other map. This goes double for a Resurgence-style map, as the map isn't going to be too big by default.

We'll have to wait and see what happens with Warzone in Black Ops 7, but the early leaks don't seem too promising, especially when it comes to the headline Season 1 map.
