Some post-launch details have been revealed for Black Ops 6, and there’s news on multiple fan-favorite features.

There's going to be a plethora of initial content at the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, but it won't stop there. Treyarch has now revealed a number of additions and features that will arrive in multiplayer after the release and during Season 1. This includes the return of Infected and other party game modes, Seasonal Challenges, and a fan-favorite map in Black Ops 6.

While we don't know all of the content arriving post-launch, you can take a look at what we do know is coming in the guide below.

What's coming to Black Ops 6 after launch?

There was a slew of information revealed in the recent "COD POD" episode that was published on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel.

In the episode, we learned more about the post-launch support that Black Ops 6 will receive as well as details on Zombies and the Campaign. Below, we'll dig deeper into some of the highlights from the episode so you know exactly what to expect after the launch of Black Ops 6 and beyond.

For all multiplayer fans in Black Ops 6, there's a number of post-launch content arriving shortly after the release on Oct. 25. Starting off, the fan-favorite Infected mode is returning roughly one week after launch, which also coincides with the release of Nuketown as a 6v6 map.

Infected is a party game mode that sees one player start a match as the "Infected," and their job is to infect other players on the map. Other players have full weapon loadouts while the Infected only have a knife and combat axe.

In addition to Infected, Treyarch revealed additional party game modes are coming to Black Ops 6 in Season 1. This will likely include Prop Hunt, which is a beloved mode last seen in Black Ops Cold War. Season 1 is presumably going to arrive in early December 2024.

Moving away from game modes, many players have wondered if Black Ops 6 is going to continue the Weekly Challenges system in MW3. Unfortunately, Treyarch has confirmed the weekly rewards and events will not be returning in Black Ops 6. However, the developers are planning to introduce "Seasonal Challenges" and events, which are slated to arrive with Season 1.

There will also be Prestige Challenges that players can complete for rewards in addition to the regular challenges across multiplayer and Zombies. This isn't great news for players who enjoyed unlocking Aftermarket Parts every week in MW3, but hopefully, the new challenges system is just as fulfilling.

Zombies to receive a new Round-Based map in 2024

The recent COD POD episode focused a lot on Zombies and answered plenty of lingering questions the community had. For starters, Treyarch confirmed that one of the launch maps, Liberty Falls, has received plenty of updates since COD Next.

This includes new atmospheric elements, tone and color changes, and updated HUD UI. However, the developers still mentioned that Liberty Falls is a more casual map compared to Terminus, the other launch map.

In terms of news for both launch maps, Treyarch stated in-game events for Zombies will be more of a focus than in years past. This could mean Zombies-specific events could take place after launch or during Season 1 and beyond.

Finally, the big news we received about the post-launch support for Zombies is that one new Round-Based map will arrive before 2024 ends. This will likely arrive with Season 1 or shortly after, meaning there will be three full, Round-Based maps in Black Ops 6 Zombies by the end of the year. More could come in 2025 and likely will, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

We haven't heard the last about Season 1 in Black Ops 6, but this will presumably be all the official details we receive for now. More information should start being posted after the launch of the game on Oct. 25.
