PrizePicks has made a bold choice, and leaves some of their customers without a platform.

PrizePicks has become one of the most popular daily fantasy sports platforms in the entire North American market. Offering easy-to-play contests in both traditional sports and esports, fans have grown accustomed to the platform as a whole over the past few years. However, PrizePicks has made the decision to leave half of its North American market, opting to exit from Canada entirely.

The company announced it is planning a wider expansion in the United States, hoping to get licensed in more states and grow in the states where it’s already licensed. PrizePicks stated that the company is “hyper focused on our continued expansion across the US and delivering the best product experience for our players.”

Currently, PrizePicks is licensed in some way in all 50 US states, but it is licensed in more states for its contracts in the prediction market. The company also has licenses for its new “PrizePicks Predictions” offering, and this includes traditional sports and esports betting as well. The goal for PrizePicks now is to scale all of its offerings, including its prediction markets and daily sports bets.

Canada customers have until April to leave PrizePicks

While the US customer base is seeing tremendous growth potential from PrizePicks, the same can’t be said for customers in Canada.

Any PrizePicks player in Canada has until April 2 to withdraw all of the money from their PrizePicks account if they want to get it back. However, PrizePicks is planning to stop deposits altogether by March 10 and fully stop operations in Canada by April 3.

If you’re a customer in Canada, you can log onto the website or open the app to see more information about how to withdraw your money and the timeline for the entire ordeal. You should have also been sent an email that details more about the shutdown.
