Maryland is now the 15th U.S. state where the company will be operating.

bet365 has obtained a sports betting license in Maryland. This is now the 15th U.S. state where the UK-based gambling company will be operating.

The news comes just days after bet365 launched a sportsbook in Kansas City with a bunch of user-friendly features like Bet Boosts and Same Game Parlay. Like in Kansas, bet365 will operate in Maryland alongside rival operators such as BetMGM, DraftKings, and FanDuel.

On Friday, August 29, the sports betting company started sharing promotional materials for its expansion in Maryland. Later on, the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency confirmed it had approved bet365’s betting license.

The bet365 sportsbook launch in Maryland comes a week before the NFL kickoff, which is arguably the best time for sports betting in the U.S. The launch appears to be diligently planned and executed, and Maryland-based players looking to bet will now have more options available during the NFL season.

bet365 has been slowly but steadily expanding its presence in the U.S. Last year, it became the first non-U.S. sports betting company to join the Sports Betting Alliance (SBA). It’s a coalition between legal operators that includes BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, and Fanatics Sportsbook.

Aside from operating in Maryland and Kansas, the company provides its services in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. Furthermore, bet365 is planning its 16th U.S expansion in Missouri later this December.
