Astralis and Stake have formally teamed up.

Astralis, a Danish esports organization known for having one of the best Counter-Strike teams over the past decade plus, has announced a new partnership with Stake. Stake is one of the most popular sportsbook platforms in the gambling industry, and is a sponsor for dozens of high-profile gaming and IRL streamers as well as other esports organizations, such as Team Vitality.

This partnership was formally announced following Stake securing a recent five-year Danish gambling license, which allows them to operate in Astralis’ native country of Denmark. Stake is now the official gambling partner for Astralis, and the two organizations will work together to deliver fan-driven content and grow both brands over the coming years.

Astralis and Stake partner up to cement betting’s place in esports

This isn’t the first partnership between an esports organization and a gambling sportsbook. We’ve even started to see traditional sports leagues partner with sportsbooks in recent months. However, with Astralis being one of the premier orgs in esports and Stake having such a large presence in the gambling industry, this partnership is certainly one to note.

Astralis CRO, Jakob Kristensen, had this to say about the partnership:

“This is a strategically important partnership for Astralis and a strong validation of our position as a significant sports entertainment brand. Stake is entering the Danish market with global momentum, and doing so together with Astralis reflects the strength of our platform, our audience, and our long-term vision for esports as mainstream entertainment. We see significant opportunities to innovate, grow fan engagement, and help shape the next phase of our industry.”

With Stake now securing licenses all over the world, including in France for its partnership with Team Vitality, it’s fair to wonder if the sportsbook will continue signing deals with other esports organizations in the future. For now, though, Stake seems more than content with its new Danish license and deal with Astralis.

Stake CMO, Akhil Sarin, stated that: “Tying our story to a legend of the game like Astralis is both a strategic milestone and a celebration of our newly activated Danish license. It’s a perfect match: global ambitions backed by strong local support.”

We’ll have to wait and see what kind of content the two brands can cook up for their respective fan bases in the coming weeks and months.
