Atelier Resleriana: Release Date, Platforms, New Combat & Alchemy System

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian releases on Sept. 25, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. Learn details on platforms, release date, and what to expect from Koei Tecmo’s next Atelier RPG.

Did Atelier Yumia get you hooked? Good news, the latest entry in the Atelier series, Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian is around the corner.

The latest entry introduces two new protagonists, Rias Eidreise and Slade Clauslyter, as they unravel the secrets of a hidden Atelier within mysterious ruins. The game will be set in the Lantarna mainland, in the same universe and timeline of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator.

Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian will include six base playable characters. However, the Season Pass and Ultimate Edition of the game give the option to play Resna and Valeria, the protagonists from the previous Atelier Resleriana title.

Release Date & Platforms

Atelier Resleriana will release on Sept. 25, and Koei Tecmo will be looking to capitalise on the momentum and commercial success of Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land earlier this year.

Atelier Yumia released on March 21, becoming the fastest-selling game in the Atelier series, surpassing 300,000 units shipped worldwide within its first week. A massive success for Koei Tecmo and developer Gust.

At launch Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian will be available on the following platforms:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Steam
  • Nintendo Switch

Koei Tecmo confirmed there are currently no plans to release on Xbox.

What languages are available in Atelier Resleriana?

Koei Tecmo have confirmed via the official FAQ page that Atelier Resleriana will be localized for English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Korean. However, much like the language settings in Atelier Yumia, it is expected the audio will be Japanese only.

Combat and Alchemy changes

In response to player feedback from the previous Atelier Resleriana entry, combat will no longer be turn-based. Instead, it will be a command based system "making it more strategic and satisfying".

Meanwhile the alchemy system - which received criticism for its simplicity in Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator - has been reverted to titles of the past to retain the depth that long-time fans of the series found addictive.
