Ready for a throwback? Rift Relics are bringing some old friends into Apex matches this season.
Rift Relics are shaking up Apex Legends 23. Titanfall fans, and Apex Legends players from seasons past will get the chance to experience a throwback throughout pubs matches this season.
Perhaps most excitingly, Respawn have been very keen to keep things under wraps about this season. This is why we're only getting news about Season 23 hours before it goes live. Additionally, speaking at the Press and Media preview event, the team were only prepared to share a few of the Rift Relics we can expect, promising more surprises as the season goes on.
With that in mind, here's what we do know so far.
Everything you need to know about Apex Legends Season 23:
What are Rift Relics in Apex Legends?
Cosmic Rifts have appeared all across the Outlands. The result of this is "new and exceptional loot" across Apex matches this season. These Rifts will spawn special Loot Ticks, that contain a wide assortment of new Weapons and loot that are called Rift Relics.
These are especially different in terms of both power and functionality from standard items within the Apex games. Developers say that these Rift Relics are "bits of Apex and Titanfall history" with some of the items they can contain feeling familiar to OG Apex and Titanfall players.

What Relics do we know about?
The Respawn team have chosen, so far, to keep the vast majority of these Rift Relics a secret ahead of Apex Legends Season 23 releasing. However, here are the ones they did share:
- Boost Kits - These will add abilities to your Survival Slot when equipped. One example shared will allow Legends to hover in the air when aiming.
- Relic Weapons - These are especially powerful weapons, with some expected to be direct call backs to old Apex and Titanfall history. This will include the EPG from Titanfall, a super powerful weapon that is the first launcher in Apex history. It will also include the original Bocek!
- New Hop-Ups - This will include Lifesteal, that will heal you with every hit and instantly refilling health and armor on headshots
There are more than 25 items in the Rift Relic loot pool in Apex Season 23. They will be slowly added to the game over the course of the season. So, keep coming back to see the loot pool expand.
What modes will Rift Relics be in?
Rift Relics will be in all pubs modes this season, as well as Trios Revival and Straight Shot revival when they return this season after proving incredibly popular. They won't be active in Ranked or Private Matches as things stand.
