Sapporo is once again hosting the ALGS Championship. This year, attendance is expected to exceed 30,000.
The Apex Legends Global Series 2026 Championship (ALGS 2026 Championship), also known as the ALGS Year 5 Championship, is happening in Sapporo, Japan, and more than 30,000 attendees are expected to visit the Daiwa House Premist Dome.

According to Electronic Arts Inc. (EA), more than 30,000 fans are set to attend the ALGS 2026 Championship event. Taking place between Jan. 15 and Jan. 18, this event begins with 40 of the best Apex Legends teams duking it out for a share of the $2,000,000 USD prize pool.
In addition to being a must-watch tournament for fans of Apex Legends esports, this event features Twitch Drops galore, watch parties, the chance to take photos with a bunch of talented cosplayers, and more. This may also be a good time for folks who follow esports bookmakers to get in on the action.

Sapporo becomes home of ALGS 2026 Championship
The ALGS Year 5 Championship follows the success of last year's iteration of it, which had an attendance of more than 34,000 fans in the same city. Fans who enjoy Sapporo can look forward to the ALGS 2027 Championship as well, which is scheduled to take place at the Daiwa House Premist Dome venue once again.
